Regarding the TVBS coverage of “New Weapons in the Taiwan Strait; China Successfully Tested S-400 Missile and has Aimed at the Taiwan Straight”, the Ministry of National Defense has stated today (26th) that the media coverage is a misinterpretation and the ministry refutes sternly.
The Ministry of National Defense emphasized that the Republic of China Armed Forces have strict and effective measures and handling methods on the regional security situation, surrounding air and sea activities, as well as the troops and deployment situation of the People’s Liberation Army of China. Regarding local media quoting foreign media coverage and conducting coverage without verifying the authenticity of the sources, such action may trigger social unrest and tension, and the ministry asks that media should verify the covered content to avoid misleading citizens.
